yes.
i think that if you add a bit more color not a clean white its more "happy" look to the room.

I would say colored because you’d have to bleach the white sheets, bedding because of incidents of diarhea, spit up, bloody noses(you never know), snotty noses, colds… urine stains because the diaper was too full during the night (it happens)

That's racist. All babies should have bedding in their cribs, no matter their race. And since when do white babies and "colored" babies use different sheets?

white’s fine. I don’t think my daughter had a single accident in her crib. If you’re breast feeding, when the baby spits up there won’t be stains.. it’ll wash out fine. If you’re using formula, you’ll want to put something down.. that stains.

It depends – if you get very upset about stains, I’d avoid white. There really isn’t any other reason to avoid it though.

Yes. Spit up and poop both stain. I'd go for something with a colorful pattern.

of course, if your worried about spit up stains then I suggest laying receiving blankets down right where the baby sleeps, so if anything leaks (hah), you just have to pick up the small receiving blankey and throw it in the wash instead of the entire sheet set . white works when you use my technique:-)

2 sheets are a minimum, but up to 7 makes sense if you do laundry once a week and want a different one everyday.

The crib bedding can kill the baby, but it looks neat, so it is what is most important to you. Some people have killer fashion sense. Get it?

Swaddle the baby, then use sleep sacs. Save the blanket for when they are over 12 months old. Even a receiving blanket covering their face increases SIDS.

A slight reduction in oxygen intake causes what is basically a heart attack in most SIDS cases. Anything obstructing the mouth and / or nose can trigger it.

Other than a paci which actually helps keep the mouth free somehow. Maybe because it keeps the mouth held open?

I have nice looking crib sheets, and 2 adorable swaddled babies to decorate my crib. And a mobile… and a Fisher Price aquarium crib toy. It really is busy enough like that. Don’t need a bunch of other junk in it.

I use baby blankets for supervised play time. Which isn’t sleep time anyway. So they get used, just not in the crib.

You are right. You don’t really need that stuff. Most people buy it to complete their nursey. I’m guilty of it too. I find one soo cute I had to have it.

Bumpers – once they roll over you are supposed to remove them – they are just decoration. So you don’t even need a breathable one ever.
I would get like 2-3 sheets – in case one is dirty and need a replacement.
If your baby is like mine, they will have about 20 blankies you could use for a blanket. Or even better a sleep sack.

Really, if you want to save your money I would just get the crib sheet and maybe a skirt if you want one. and a baby blanket for your little one.
