The Perfect Baby Shower Gifts
The day of the baby shower is just around the corner, and you’re still wracking your brain, hoping to figure out the right kind of gift to buy for the expecting mother. With so many options out there, where should you start? Gift registries, gift idea magazines, even articles such as this have so many ideas to throw at you, that it’s quite easy to get overwhelmed. Well, you should try and start simply. First, consider the big ticket items that are very popular as baby shower gifts. Cribs, bassinets, Moses baskets, and other furniture items are popular choices for gifts for a baby shower. Of course, these items are somewhat expensive, so in many cases it is the close family member or friends of the mother to be that purchase them. Or, party guests may get together and purchase a playpen, car seat, recliner or other high-priced baby shower gift as a group present. More economical choices for baby shower gifts are popular for obvious reasons. It’s always nice to be able to give the mommy-to-be your very own present, one that is just from you, will be enjoyed, but won’t necessarily send you over budget. These types of gifts for a baby shower include such essentials as diaper bags, travel packs for the car, baby wipe warmers, diaper pails, crib bedding sets, baby monitors, bottle warmers, slings and baby carriers. Finally, there is quite a list of low-end baby shower gifts that don’t cost a lot, but definitely provide the recipient with function and appeal. Packages of diapers, diaper organizers and changing table organizers, books on parenting and babies, baby toiletries like nail clippers and brushes and combs, bibs, bottles and pacifiers, other eating utensils like plates and bowls, and toys and soft, plush animals. Of course, you don’t necessarily have to purchase pre-manufactured and pre-packaged baby shower gifts. If you really know the interests and preferences of the expecting mother, consider putting together a care package for her, her baby or even both of them. If she is planning on breastfeeding, skip the purchase of bottles, and instead assemble a care package that contains supplies and essentials for breastfeeding. The same approach could be used for a woman who is planning on using cloth diapers for her baby. Your choice of baby shower gifts for her might be a package of cloth diapers and covers. Remember, no matter what you choose to purchase for your choice of a baby shower gift, be sure to remove price tags and include a gift receipt before the day of the shower.

what the perfect baby shower gift?
I want get my friends gifts that not so typrical…
i am planning on getting her, stroller..? what u think?
It depends on your relationship to the mother-to-be. I had a shower recently and I really appreciated useful items such as diapers (diaper cakes are very fun and you can personalize them) and baby powder but I also loved those one of a kind gifts such as handmade blankets. Any new mother will appreciate anything that is given in most cases!

That is a good one, just make sure her family is not getting her one. One of my favorite gifts was tons of diapers in various sizes from newborn on up. Diapers are so expensive, I didn’t have to buy any for months. That was great. I got all kinds of cool gadgets but found that I uses very few of them. I also got a ton of formula. That was also great.

You should get a little basket from babiesrus eather pink blue or yellow. Fill it with newborn diapers, baby wipes, butt paste, bottles, an outfit. All that stuff wont go to waste

I don’t think I would get that let the parents get it, afterall if something were to go wrong you don’t want it to look bad on you. For the not so typical gift how about a Christening gown for when the baby gets baptised. Or a blanket with the baby’s name.

I usually make the Mother a baby blanket. I love to crochet. I have also since I had my baby shower 28 years ago, given the Mother something. Like a bottle of bubble bath, or candles, som ething special for her, since she is doing all the work! I have even gone so far as to give the Father a bottle of Champagne and two Champagne glasses to toast the new child. There are also places that write a book with the child’s
name being included in the book.

A basket full of assorted toiletries such as baby powder, shampoo, baby brush, nail clippers, etc… Or a baby first aid kit with a themometer, infant Tylenol, bulb syringe, etc.. Some of those things moms-to-be don’t think about, especially first time moms.

See what other people are getting her so u won’t double up on anything and she may have to return. Have you thought of an exasaucer? They sell them at wal mart, target, baby’s r us, etc….My little girl is 6mnths and she bounces in it and plays with all the toys that surround the outside of it, it’s great!!! Oh yea and eventhough it’s typical, get her some diapers, maybe some in diff sizes..she is going to go through a lot of them!!!!

For my first child my favorite gift was from an Uncle and Aunt. I got a huge packing box filled with diapers, baby wash, bottles, bottle brush you name it. I loved having all of the odds and ends that even I didn’t know I would need.
My friend did the same thing for me with my second except that it was in a basket and had a special bath set for me with a note to remind me to take care of my self as well.
If your friends register you could pick some of the lesser expensive items and put them together. The choice is yours. Oh, one other gift I loved was a couple of certificate to the Picture People for those first baby portraits.
Have fun!

I think it is a great gift, very generous.

The stroller sounds good but to fill it with diapers wipes and baby toiletries makes it even better. Moms need plenty of them. Those are the quickest items they run out of. I had a friend order me one year of diaper service. That was all she wrote and a great gift to talk about for years to come.

i have has 2 showers, my favorite gift is when soeone gets a big basket and fills it with all kinds of different things, you can line the bottom with rolled up newspaper and cover it with a receiving blanket, and add lotions, booties, socks, soaps, onsies, whatever u want! I loved those!
or you can fill up a really cute diaper bag and add pink or blue tissue paper

I would get her something that she is going to need a lot of. Babies cost a lot of money so the more help you get before the baby is born the better! Try diapers of various sizes, lightweight receiving blankets, undershirts/one piece outfits (babies pee, poo, and puke a lot!). I’m sure she would appreciate anything like that.

I would recommend looking at her baby registry. People really appreciate it when they get something they need and have specifically expressed wanting. If she has registered for a specific stroller, then that would be great. Another item that will get used alot is a contour changing pad. That’s something that most people won’t buy, since it’s not ‘cute.’

either a stroller or if they cant get a crib try to help with one. or even diapers no matter how typical. If i were to have a baby shower i would want everyone to bring diapers, that is one of the most expensive to accumulate for a baby.

My usual baby shower gift is a stuffed animal dressed in a baby’s outfit for the baby and wrapped in a cuddly baby blanket.
