    This is really cute! Sign language has many benefits for babies. This is ironic when hearing babies are allowed to learn sign language but deaf babies aren’t. This is a sad truth! When I was little I wasn’t allowed to sign because I’m deaf and my stepmom was afraid I won’t become smart when I grow up if I learn sign language. I’ve seen some deaf kids having delayed language because they weren’t allowed to sign. Deaf babies allowed to sign have better communication and intelligence. Pass it on!

    You should teach her different languages (Spanish, French, German etc) babies tends to understands it and learn faster then adults. And when she gets older she’ll know all those languages.

    I saw a Vietnamese American girl named Wendy Vo, could speak 11 languages (English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Japanese, Hindi, Arabic, Russian, Cantonese, Portuguese and Vietnamese), she started learning at a young age.

    When you sign with babies you are always encouraging them to speak as well. You sign and say the word at the same time. My daughter was a very early talker and she was speaking in sentences at 15 months. I think it’s great to encourage both :-)

    I think this is very wonderful. However babies are capable of speaking at early ages, I was able to speak in full sentences before I was a year old. Wouldn’t it be better to work this hard to teach them how to speak first???

    my son is one of …
    my son is one of the ‘late talkers’ and has a teacher twice a week. only now at the age of two has he decided that verbal words might be fun. he started with signing almost 9 months ago but we only taught him a few words. i honestly dont think it held him back from speaking at all. what it did do was reduce the stress in the house. i also think the signing made him more creative in general.
