Infant Colic – How To Identify Its Signs

admin on Feb-27-2010

Colic is a common condition in many newborn babies wherein the babies cry for long periods of time (3-5 hours without stopping, more than 3 times a week for over a month) and frequently; while it can be frustrating for parents of newborns to deal with this type of behavior, it is equally exhausting for the baby itself.

First and foremost parents and caregivers of newborn babies that cry need to distinguish the reasons for the baby crying and establishing whether it is crying due to colic pain, which can be simple or severe. Secondly, they need to understand that colic is common and is not a disorder – although there is no absolute cure for colic, there are various techniques that have proven effective in calming crying infants and giving parents of newborns the rest they need.

An infant may cry due to hunger, sleeplessness or clothes being too tight even; first, find out why the child is crying.

• Check for signs of irritability and redness to the cheeks due to excessive crying for more than 3 hours daily with the legs folding up to the abdomen, since colic is stomach pain and discomfort essentially and these are common signs of colic episodes.
• Difficulty passing stools.
• Some babies with severe colic may thrash about as muscles spasms occur or there may be a distention in the intestines.

• If occurring within 2-3 weeks of the child’s birth, the severe abdominal pain accompanied by excessive crying is known as colic; it occurs recurrently in spasms and stomach pain is frequent with the baby becoming hypertonic and showing alternating body postures. Theses may involve contractions, sudden stretching of limbs or even stiffening in a spastic posture while turning red due to the crying and parents need to be alert about these signs of colic.

• At times, signs that are indications of colic, if persistent, may be symptoms of a more serious digestive tract problem, so observant parents can convey these signs to the doctor for expert advice if all home remedies fail.

Scientific research has given us many possible theories as to why colic occurs: from an immature digestive system that an infant has that is not used to processing food outside mother’s womb to environmental factors like lactose intolerance to powder or cow’s milk or nursing mother consuming allergen/chemical containing food products not suited to baby’s sensitive digestive tract to even insufficient burping or gas build-up due to eating cruciferous foods or caffeine products by mother.

However, it is certain that colic is uncomfortable for both child and caregivers and therefore adequate steps to rule out these sources of colic in the infants to bring down the statistics of 1 in every 10 infants suffering it; burp babies sufficiently during and after meals, rock or walk with the baby to soothe it, play soothing music to calm the baby or give it a pacifier. Even a warm castor oil massage on the tummy or rubbing the baby’s tummy and back to stimulate bowel movement and reduce bloating will give comfort to the colicky baby. This is because all these steps help baby to pass gas and stool, which is the best way to give relief from stomach pain due to colic.

Today You Can Have The Baby You Have Always Dreamed About

admin on Feb-27-2010

Are you facing infertility due to problems with your ovaries? If you answered yes, then I bring you good news. I will like to encourage you today, that there is help for you.

What are the ovaries?
The ovaries are a pair of almond-shaped glands situated on both sides of the womb below the Fallopian tube opening.

The ovaries consist of numerous egg cells and egg-producing follicles. The ovaries do not only produce eggs but also the female hormones, oestrogen and progesterone.

Problems that affect the ovaries

Damage due to an accident or infection. Sometimes a womans ovaries may be present but contain eggs that have become severely damaged through accident or infection.

Premature menopause
Hormone
PCOD Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Where a womans body produces anti-bodies that destroy the sperm- This is where her cervical

I love the word of God. I love using Gods word to help women overcome infertility and miscarrage and sickness.
You know why I love Gods word? Because it is infallible. Gods word cannot fail you if you put your faith in it. The bible says it this way: With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 10:27.

Testimony

I will share a brief testimony with you before I continue.

A lady once came to me, who was told by her doctor that she had only one abnormal egg in her womb. The possibility of her having a child with her own eggs was zero.

She sought all kinds of help from physicians who told her the same thing. All attempts from the human side had failed to help her.

Then a friend told her about my work. She came to me crying and saying, help me Veronica.

I prayed with her and asked God to bless her with a child. Within 30 days since the day that I prayed with her she conceived a child, without any medical intervention. Today, she is a happy mother of a baby girl.

It is because of testimonies like this, that I love doing Gods work. No matter the attack on your ovaries God can turn it around for you.

This woman faced a hopeless situation which from the human standpoint looked totally impossible; yet with God it became possible.

For the bible says, with God all things are possible.
Maybe because of age or something else you have been told you cannot have a child. I believe with God you can have a child.

When we look at the symptoms of some of these problems we see impossibilities, mans impossibilities. No doctor or drugs can help you.

At times No amount of money can buy any of these blessings for you. However, all of these illnesses can be healed by God.

I want to encourage you toady, that there is help for you in Gods word. If you will come to God by faith he will bless you like he did for the woman I shared her testimony.

Many people think God is complicated or wicked. That is not true. It still amazes me how kind God is. He is full of love and is so eager to love you and bless you. Give him a chance today. God is so good.

Right now you can speak to the Lord, say to him, Lord, HEAL me from ovulation problems. Help me Lord.
My hope of being a mother is wasting away, only you can help me Lord. He will surely do it for you.
You don not need to beg Him, because He is already at the door of your heart. Just ask him in simple faith, and He will manifest himself to you. Say, Lord come and dwell in my heart by faith and speak to me.

Listen quietly and you will hear his still small voice speak back to you. And he will surely make his word good in your life.

Ask And You Will Receive

If you are facing an ovulation problem, I want you to treasure in your heart this promise from God. Jesus said, I tell you the truth, my father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive and your joy will be complete. John 16: 23-24.

A lot of times our Lord healed those who did not ask for it, but His perfect will for us is to ask.
He loves to hear you ask Him. He loves to hear that we need Him. He loves to hear our voice. So ask Him for what you need.

Let your hope be built on His words, His promise, and his faithfulness and you will be blessed.
This is what I know. I know the Lord saves His anointed, He answers from His holy heaven, with the saving power of His right hand. Psalms 20: 6.

Now say a prayer:

Now make your confession:
Father, in Jesus name I bless you. I come to you today with a heart of praise and gratitude. Father, I subject my ovaries to Your Word which is creative and energising.
I command that your Word recreate any part of my ovaries that may be damaged or in need of recreative surgery.

I also command the powerful Word of God to energise and bring back to full operation any part of my ovaries that may have been destroyed by sickness or disease.

The Father is rebuilding the old waste-places of my life. I am like a green pine tree; my fruitfulness comes from the Father. Hosea 14:8.

All that the canker worm has eaten the Father is now restoring to me. My ovaries are working normally the way God ordained for it to work. Thank you Father in Jesus name. Amen.

Decorating Your Nursery For Little Money

admin on Feb-27-2010

You can make your baby nursery look elegant, comfy and stylish with very little money. It’s not necessarily to spend thousands of dollars on a nursery, when you can make some dazzling decorations with less.

So, how do you decorate your nursery for less money?

You need to focus on the central piece of your nursery which is the crib. The baby crib should have a baby bedding set that will set the theme for the rest of your nursery.
This is the secret.

Choose a unique, beautiful and colorful baby nursery bedding and 60% of your job is already done. You must choose a bedding set that is formed from multiple pieces. It’s best to be a 9 piece baby bedding crib set.

The nine pieces will make decorating the nursery a breeze. Your 9 piece crib bedding set should normally include: a Crib Comforter, a Crib Bumper, a Fitted Sheet, a Crib Skirt (Dust Ruffle), a Diaper Stacker, a Toy Bag ,a Decorative Pillow and 2 Window Valances.

Next, you must add some matching accessories to the bedding set. A lamp shade, a hamper, a changing pad, a musical mobile or a floor rug will help you to decorate the whole nursery for very little money.

And that’s pretty much it. All that your little bundle of joy will need.

So to recap: You must choose a baby bedding set that you like (preferably one of 9 pieces), add some accessories and you’ve created a fantastic nursery.

Preparing Home For Baby – 12 Things You Must Buy

admin on Feb-27-2010

Before you bring a baby home from the hospital, you should think about the essentials you are going to need. Getting the house ready for a baby is an easy way to relieve stress because you know once you are going home there isn’t much you are going to have to worry about. You might be asking yourself tons of questions though. How many onesies do I need? What type of clothes should I buy?

All of these questions are easily answered and you can have your house stocked in no time. Here are some recommendations:

1. Onesies: Stock up on these items. Onesies make perfect everyday wear, great sleepwear and you put them on your baby underneath his or her clothes when you go out. They are a great all around piece of clothing. Depending on if you have a washing machine at home, you should have about eight. If you don’t do wash at home, get more so you have plenty on hand.

2. Sleeping gowns: These cute little numbers are very practical. In the summer time, they make a great pajama because they are loose and comfortable. Your baby will be able to move around and won’t be restricted. Plus, it will help make diaper changing easier with the easy access bottom.

3. Undershirts: Have about six or so on hand. You are going to use onesies more often than undershirts, so you aren’t going to need as many. Also, buy them slightly bigger to have them last around a little while.

4. Stretchies: These are great, cute items. You can find them in many different colors with tons of prints. Before you pick up any, find ones that are 100 percent natural fibers so it won’t irritate the baby’s skin. For the summer have about three that are cool and light. If you don’t like sleeping gowns these also make good pajamas. In the winter, you could get stretchies that are warmer. Also in the winter, put a onesie under the stretchies because some tend to be fuzzy. This helps keep the baby warm as well prevent irritation.

5. Sweaters: You usually only need or two of these. This will keep the baby warm in the winter, but don’t stock up because your baby will grow out these quickly.

6. Cute outfits: You will only need about three or four. Remember, babies grow quickly at this age so there aren’t going to be many clothes you are going to get a ton of wears out of. Keep it simple.

7. Booties and socks: Five pairs of socks should do the trick in most cases. Get cotton ones without a built-in heel. These are comfortable and will last longer.

As far as clothing goes, these are the essentials. Remember not to go too crazy when buying clothes because your baby will grow out of them quickly. Also, don’t buy too many 0-3 months clothing because you might get only one wear out of these if you’re lucky. Go straight for the 3-6 months line. Besides clothing, there are other items are you going to need.

8. Diapers: This is must. Depending if you are going to the disposable or cloth diaper route, get at least two packages to start. If you get disposable kind get a newborn as well as the next size. You might be surprised at how fast your baby grows. You can still purchase cloth diapers because they make excellent burp rags.

9. Bibs: Babies are messy, there is no doubt about this. Get two to three bibs and keep them handy for when it’s time to start feeding your baby food.

10. Washcloths: Baby washcloths are essential for your baby’s bath. The clothes should be soft and made of 100 percent cotton as to not irritate the baby’s skin. You are going to need these right away.

11. Hooded towels: You could use about two to three of these. They are great for wrapping the baby up after a bath. This is a great piece for cool homes where the baby should be wrapped up quickly.

12. Receiving blankets: These can be used a number of different ways and don’t have to be limited to just carrying the baby. These make good burp rags, you can swaddle your baby, place them over the carriage to block out the sun and use them for privacy during breast feeding. There is no limit as to what you can use receiving blankets for. Get a good number of these, anywhere from six to 12. You won’t be disappointed that you had them.

Finding Free Baby Samples

admin on Feb-27-2010

I have made a listing of some of the best- no surveys to fill out, just a small sign up page, and you’ll find tons of things for your baby.
All can be found on the sites listed! Stop by today, See all the free baby products, coupons and samples you can get, you’ll be glad you did.

Does the saying “There’s no such thing as a free lunch” sound familiar? It may be true sometimes, but when you are searching for free baby samples, baby products, or baby coupons that saying is definately not true.

Trying to find things such as free diapers, formula and other free baby products is as easy as searching online.  The hard part is weeding through the sites that are “real” and the sites which make you fill out pages and pages of surveys only to find at the end you have to take part in some “offer” in order to qualify for these “free items”. And that “offer” normally costs money.

That doesn’t sound like free to me.

But, there are tons of real places online to get coupons for your baby, free samples of all the things you need like diapers, formula, baby products and more, just by filling out one quick form. Not pages of surveys.

Manufacturers-  Many offer baby clubs. Some even send out coupons or samples. A few even offer coupons for Mom’s to be to bring to the hospital to receive a free diaper bag full of goodies. So always check their websites first.

There are also quite a few well know Mom sites online that list everything you need. You can find sales listed, coupons to print, and even all the free baby stuff you can possibly find. The best part is most of these are free!

Just be careful when visiting each site and signing up. If you are unsure about anything, read the FAQ’s or terms of service.  You can usually find these at the top or bottom of the page.

Born to fly–An Infant’s Journey to God By Cindy Claussen (This is a music video version. The book contain beautiful pictures and stories.)

The song “The Promise,” is also written by Cindy Claussen
Vocals by Elisabeth Cloven
Composed by Dave Meumann

Born to Fly–An Infant’s Journey to God
Twenty-three years after her son Nathans stillbirth, Cindy Claussen was filled with a need to write this story of hope and healing.

Designed with soft colors and simple illustrations, the pages of Born to Fly An Infants Journey God, contain Nathans conversation with God as he hears his fathers strong voice and experiences the sensation of his Mothers warm touch for the first time. “I will kick her so she knows I love her too,” Nathan tells God. When Nathan shares with God that he is not feeling well and is growing weary, God wipes His eyes and tells the child that soon he will fly. “I will fly? Will my mother fly with me?” Nathan asks. “Someday,” God assures him. The simplicity of the story is what makes it so powerful.

Born to Fly is indeed a little treasure that is sure to leave its delicate imprint on your heart.

A review of the book by CJ “Mom of 3 on Earth and 4 who fly” Having suffered a stillbirth two months ago, a bereavement nurse gave this book to me today. It couldn’t have been published at a better time. It is so poignant, touching and beautiful. It made me cry, but it is a healing cry. My husband and friends were equally moved by it. I am ordering it for my angel baby’s grandparents and will tuck my copy safely away in my memory box like the treasure that it is and review it from time to time for heartwarming hopefulness. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone who has suffered the loss of a precious baby through miscarriage or stillbirth.
